Why Parkicity?
Parkicity is a consulting firm dedicated to reshaping how cities manage their curbs, parking, and mobility networks. We believe that efficient, sustainable, and people-centered policies are the keys to thriving urban environments. Our innovative solutions help cities reduce congestion, improve mobility, and maximize valuable public space.
Decades of Mobility and Parking Experience
We partner with cities to design tailored policies and solutions that balance the needs of all users—drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and businesses—while prioritizing sustainability. Whether we’re tackling curbside policy, parking management, or event logistics, our goal remains the same: to help cities thrive through smarter, more efficient use of space.

Our founder, Peter Richards, brings unparalleled expertise to the table. As a member of the Open Mobility Foundation’s Technology Council, and the former Chair of the ITE Parking Standing Committee, Peter has been at the forefront of parking policy and curbside management innovation. Peter was the co-founder of the curbside software CurbIQ and served as Product Director for the first six years of its existence. Peter has led transformative projects across North America, including being the project manager for the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) Curb Space Management Study, the SCAG Curb Space Data Collection and Inventory Study, and the Toronto Curbside Management Strategy. These large-scale initiatives have equipped major cities with the tools and data needed to make informed mobility decisions.

Parkicity’s approach is rooted in both practical experience and technical innovation. Our founder is an inventor on a U.S. Patent for Methods and Systems for Automatic Generation and Distribution of Curbside Map Data, reflecting our commitment to leveraging technology for smarter urban spaces. Additionally, our founder’s past experience as Deputy Project Manager for the Games Route Network during the 2015 Toronto Pan/Parapan American Games—Canada’s largest ever multi-sport event—showcases our ability to manage complex logistics and keep cities moving smoothly.
At Parkicity, we envision a future where cities are greener, more efficient, and more enjoyable to navigate. Let’s shape that future together with Parking Solutions for Greener Cities.
